We had a great stay at the petitie Mimosa, Candy and Drew are very open and lovely hosts! They thought of everything! The Kids loved the Pool and the Ping Pong ( we did too)
I Cannot think of something to Improve!
We also liked the cooking of Daughter Jessica! So nice that they offered dinners in the garden.
We defintely come back!
Miranda, Germany. August 2020
Just returned after a wonderful week in Marval with my family. ( 2 children age 5 and 8, husband age 43) . Where do I start?....
A wonderful warm welcome from Candy and Drew after our long journey. We arrived at about 8pm and after a quick tour, we felt immediately at home and the girls jumped in the pool, followed by a game of badminton.
The gite was larger than expected and everything was lovely and clean. The complimentary bread, cheese and wine were a welcome surprise and didn’t remain in the kitchen for long!
The bed linen was lovely on our bed. (This may seem a random comment but I’m fussy on bed linen).
The Shower in the bathroom is great for children as we could fit two in at once!
The kitchen is well stocked with crockery etc. which makes it easy if you wish to spend evenings at the gite cooking or having a BBQ.
The pool and outside area exceeded our expectations, with plenty of seating/sun beds and lots of room for our family frisby games.
Whilst the gite feels tucked away from the rest of the world, there are easily accessible amenities within a short drive.
We had some great days out and absolutely loved St Estephe and Brantôme.
The highlight for our girls was when Drew took them for a ride in the back of his tractor, we will always remember the look on their little faces.
This holiday was fantastic value for money, in a beautiful, special place
We can’t thank you enough Candy and Drew, we WILL return!

We spent 2 weeks here in August and enjoyed a fantastic & relaxing holiday. The accommodation is clean, and comfortable for a small family and well equipped. It's the outside space however where La Petite Mimosa really excels with a huge expanse of room to explore and spend time. The pool is lovely - crystal clear and large enough for the family all to play together. There is plenty of room and shaded areas around the outside to relax and keep an eye on little ones playing in the water.
There is also a shaded picnic area where we ate outside by the side of the pool (+hammock) and then another covered option next to the gite with a small sofa and table + chairs for eating out. We often had breakfast out here or played games in the evening. The garden beyond is huge so our sons enjoyed running around freely which is something they don't get th chance to do at home.
Candy and Drew were very welcoming hosts and entertained our twins on numerous occasion (thank you!). They were on hand when we needed them for recommendations, helped us book a few meals out and made sure that we had what we needed in the gite for a comfortable stay.
Marval is a quiet village but has lots of walking opportunities in the nearby woods and a friendly local shop for morning bread etc.
In summary a great couple of weeks and fully recommend to any families wishing to get away from a busy life at home with some space to relax and play. Top marks !
If you are looking for somewhere to stay with oodles of true French charm, a fabulous pool, gorgeous gardens, and wonderful hosts, you have found it here. Drew and Candy are absolutely charming, helpful and unobtrusive. You can see how hard they work keeping the pool correctly balanced, the water is crystal clear. The gite is charming and there is lots to see locally as well as lovely walks.
Their little dog Welly (Wellington) is also totally handsome and debonair, sort of the Peter O'Toole of the doggie world, you will fall in love with him, dog lover or not.
We will definitely be coming back again, as it's so different from the average gite complex of converted barn and boring lawns that all look the same. We loved it here.
Having stayed a couple of times I can wholeheartedly recommend this as a place to relax, unwind and restore. The grounds are lovely and easy on the eyes, it's quiet and beautifully presented. The hosts are most welcoming and unobtrusive. A small shop 150 meters away sells fabulous local bread etc and there is a market in the small town about 5km down the road. If you are after a quiet and gentle break in beautiful countryside with great facilities you just can't go wrong here! I look forward to my next stay with great anticipation.
